Days of Blood & Starlight - Laini Taylor Laini Taylor.....you reach into my heart and make it bleed....I hold my breath and then slowly life gets pumped back into it.I just can't figure out what twist will happen next. That ending was OMG I love it I hate it I love it. Where is a flower to pluck when you need one? The characters are so flawed and real. I ache to help Karou yelling in my head don't trust them, forgive him, watch out.I loved getting a glimpse into the Angels camp and how horrible and wonderful people are on both sides of the campaign like in a real war not everyone is good or bad. There was so much character development, which could get a little slow at times but the wait was well worth the ride. I can’t even count the number of times I was on the edge of my seat in this sequel and just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, bam! I am thrown aback because it turned out so differently than I anticipated. Ziri was my hero and also my heart broke for the role he has to play. This book was definitely darker than Daughter of Smoke and Bone, especially while Karou is on her own lost in her ache from Akiva. But Zuzana and Mik add some great comic relief and levity to an intense situation and bring back the girl we loved from DoSaB. The ending was hopeful and terrifying all at the same time. Laini Taylor… You have really captured my imagination and heart with your story of love loss redemption. No one is completely good or bad and all have made their mistakes that have led them down this road of destruction that so many want to escape from. Can't wait for your next book in this series. Bravo
